I started Mortgages by Kris because I was tired of watching good people get dismissed by their banks. People with solid jobs, real goals, and every reason to own a home - told "no" because they didn't fit a neat little box.

I grew up in Ear Falls, Ontario - a town so small we didn't have streetlights, let alone a Walmart. Before mortgages, I worked in social work. That career taught me how to listen, advocate, and show up for people when systems fail them. Turns out, those are the exact skills you need when a bank tells someone they can't afford a mortgage they've been paying rent higher than for years.

Here's what makes me different: I have access to multiple lenders and products that banks don't offer their own customers. That means when your bank says no, I can usually find a yes. And if it's actually not possible right now? I'll tell you exactly what needs to change to make it possible in six months.

When I'm not working? You'll find me fishing, perfecting a charcuterie board, or being managed by my four dogs: Coconut, Tank, Sushi, and Miles. (They're excellent at reminding me to take breaks.)
